Hello all, today we are going to talk about damage types in Lotro:
There is a big world in front of you young adventurer and many types of monsters who react differently to your mighty strokes and slashes...
But don't be too scared, while growing in strength to almighty 65 you don't have to worry too much about it, just stick to higher DPS.
But once you get that sweet Legendary weapon that destiny created just for you, and you know the 2 of you will be best friends for a loong time, and especially if you plan killing some bad guys in their lairs, it's time to consider in what way does your shiny weapon land blows...
All legendary weapons start with Common damage... "So what" you ask? Well, problem is probably in evolution: It seems that 99% of your enemies were smacked with common damage over centuries and they became highly resistant to it.
Let's take a closer look on how different pest react:
Those are some general rules but to be sure, ask your friendly Lore Master to use Knowledge of the Lore-master on specific mob.
You will get something like this:
See how you would like to attack this nice fellow with westernesse?
Ok, ok, so i need some type of damage other than common... But how does it actually work? What's the benefit of having different damage type?
Good question! Maybe this will give you some answers:

Cool! Now I know I definitely need one of these... But where do I get it?
Well, there are many ways but most common are repeatable quests and reputation vendors...
For starters, I would suggest grabbing a friend or two and head to Echad Dúnann in Eregion for a Midnight Raid quest which rewards Beleriand type of damage. But remember, you need 1 infused adamant to start this daily quest.
Beleriand type is really good all around-er but for last 2 raids, westernesse is much better choice.
One more thing worth mentioning: With damage type, there's also a slayer type (e.g. Troll Slayer which adds fixed amount of additional damage to that type of enemy), and it's handy but not so potent as damage type.
And to finish this "brief" guide to killing monsters, her's a place where you can find information of all weapon titles and where and how to obtain them...

Happy hunting!
